New camera time, 450D to 6D ?

Thinking about selling most of my equipment to get a Canon 6D. I want to go full-frame.

I know someone will ask "why I want to make this move", and it is because I am serious about photography and really serious about making money out of it.
Been out of work since the beginning of 2013 and I just cannot find a job, or at least, I can't get any interviews, so I though to myself "why not *try* and make a living out of photography!" It's going to be hard, but if I believe in myself, I'm sure I'll get there.
I've seen a few photography jobs where I live, and I would love to apply for them but they require you to have a full-frame dslr.

The 6D seems like a great camera for landscapes and I can make use of the camera in low light.

Hopefully this camera body will be sufficient for taking wildlife shots, small and large birds either in flight or on the ground, and for taking shots of mammals.
I may also do some portraits in the future.

I'm beginning to take pano shots....and wouldn't mind buying a Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens for macro.

Overall, I'm sure the 6D will be better over my 450D.

Since I'm using a 50mm and other EF lenses, I am correct in saying that I'm not using the lens to its full potential?

The 6D is a fantastic camera and will be great for portraits and landscapes. Unfortunately though, whilst it does have AF Servo, it does not have a very sophisticated focus system and you will find it far to slow for fast moving objects like birds in flight.

If you have to photograph fast moving subjects and must go full frame then you will need to look at the 5Dmkiii.

I would also question why a photography job requires a full frame camera. Many professional photographers use a crop.

With regards to the AF on the 6d not being up to scratch for fast moving stuff, this simply isn't true.

Whilst something like a 7d2 is made for sports, the 6d centre point is **very** good indeed. I've shot plenty of sports and birds in flight and it doesn't miss a beat. The only downside is the relatively slow FPS rate.
