New camera would like an extra lens

Which lens should I buy? I need some advice I am a dslr beginner and my first camera is a Nikon-D5500-18-55-VR-II-Kit I think the lens that comes with a camera is a portrait / all rounder lens? I am looking to buy one more lens with more of zoom is there any recommendations?

Lens I was looking at was Nikon NikkorAF-S 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR but to honest I am clueless with being a beginner.
 
What budget do you have? If you're wanting a telephoto lens yhen you could look at the Tamron SP 70-300 f4-5.6 VC. It's a much better quality lens and is in the next league up. (y)

Thankyou I would say my budget was no more than 300 do you think that lens will be good for a beginner?

Cheapest I see that lens is 207 which seems like a good price?

Mbp photography have a couple at £219.00 I've been looking myself.
 
Is this correct Tamron A005 SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD - Nikon Mount?
