The Capture One User to User forum was shut down some years ago, with their advice to use alternative social media platforms; they have an official Facebook group, which is barely used and obviously requires you to be a member of Facebook to use it.

There are actually several C1 groups on Facebook, which are reasonably active and occasionally visited by C1 staff, and there might be other C1 groups on social media that I don't know about.

However, a few weeks ago, a new public C1 forum opened, unconnected to C1, but trying to provide an open forum to fill the space left by the C1 user to user forum. For those unaware, the "official" C1 user to user forum was exactly what it says. It wasn't a C1 user support forum, and C1 staff rarely contributed.

So far, there are 97 members, and although I have nothing to do with the forum management, I have been trying to answer every post to keep the momentum going until it gets more members.

The person who set it up is a member here @Bondservant. He seems to know his way around managing a forum, but isn't an experienced C1 user.

For the few C1 users on here, it might be worth having a look.

I recently (15 April this year) raised a tech support ticket with C1Pro. Imagine my surprise when on submission, I was prompted to check the (then closed) User forum. I didn't capture the exact wording, but I did follow up and ask them about it. On 21 April, Stefania Michailidou responded to my support request, and added "The automated prompt you received upon submitting your request is indeed incorrect, and will be removed to avoid further confusion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention."

I shall check out the forum you mention, thanks.

I think, the closed forum is still there but as read only. It still seems to crop up in google searches and the links still work.

But, yes give the new forum a look. It still only has 108 members but seems to be slowly growing and there are at least four Talk Photography people on it.

If it would help, we would happily set up a C1 thread or threads on TP.
I did at one point think about suggesting this. There are a few C1 users here, and it might be good to bring all conversations together in one place.

I don't see it as replacing a specialist C1 forum, but it might be useful for existing users and new users who are insufficiently interested in software to join a C1-only forum.

I agree Graham. This thread can continue as a discussion of the idea and reference to the other new forum, but feel free any C1 user to create a separate thread for C1 users to discuss issues, get advice etc. This is the right part of the forum for that.

We can see if there is any response to your suggestion, but maybe just setting up a post called "The Capture One User's Thread" might be worth doing anyway, and see how it goes.
