It's only an extra £100 not £1775.Posh cars over 40k new tax going up this year to £355 per year for 5 years on top of VED which is going up to £155/year (small reduction for hybrid/leccy)
so an extra £1775 for nipping over the £40k number
Cars over £40k have had extra VED of £335 a year for the first 5 years since April 2017.
