New D90 - Well pleased

Well I picked up my new (to me) D90 from LCE in Guildford yesterday. The pre-owned body was in the Nottingham branch & they got it down to Guildord + the Sigma 120-400 I got a good deal on, for collection on Saturday even though I only did the deal Thursday afternoon. So pretty pleased with the service and although it's very early days, the D90 seems a breeze to use.

I'll post some early shots separately.

The main reason for upgrading from the D40 was to get something that would focus & shoot much faster for motor-sport stuff & coupled with the new Sigma, I'm looking forward to trying the camera out track side as soon as I can. I'll need to practice working with my monopod - it's a heavy old combo.

i used them myself recently, i traded a 400D and some bits in for a new 40D and found them to be very good/fair........:thumbs:
 
Now when I tried to get LCE to get something from another branch to my local (Taunton) branch they wouldn't do it.

Shame. Cost them a £2700 sale.

Shall try again on Monday. I was after the 24-70mm f2.8 (used) and a new D700. Might go for a 24mm, 50mm and the 70-300 VR instead. Just need to find some used ones.
 
...Jessops did a better deal for me than LCE when I wanted to spend £1500 or so. This was the Chesterfield branch.

D90 was what I was after too :D

I had a similar occurrence with LCE in Taunton. I popped in to see if they had any D200's in but sadly they did not. They suggested that I go online and buy form one of their other branches (LCE) as they do mail order and will send it on to me. I would of preferred they had it sent to the shop where I could then inspect it prior to buying but it was not to be. Shame because it lost them my trade.
