It's time I got myself a desktop. When we moved house 3.5 years ago I bought a new Dell laptop (we moved into rented) and that's all I've used since.
So my laptop has

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz
RAM: 32.0GB
64 bit
1 TB internal SSD hard drive
Windows 11 Home (upgraded from 10) with Office (which was already installed)

I only need the tower - I have a 27" dell monitor that works fine.

Budget £1k - £1.25k or thereabouts. I would really like a 2tb hard drive if possible and at least 32 gig of Ram - 64 if within budget as Photoshop seems to require more and more power.

I'm not at all technical so it has to be ready to go when it arrives. I'm not into gaming so apart from web browsing and emails, photo processing is the major use.

Thanks in advance

when you get the new computer download Belarc Advisor, Why because it will give you the serial number of the windows OS and do a printout for future ref . I have deleted parts of the serial numbers on here as they relate to mine. companies usually bulk buy serial numbers and you may not be given it

I can't get excited over a computer - but a new lens...................... (not that I'm getting one.)

Can I suggest you contact companies like "scan computers" or "CCL computers" with your requirements and let them build to your spec and price range. They can also give you the best advise I would have thought

Checked out the Scan website and quite taken aback with the prices.... Can get a really good system on my budget which should process my D810/D850/K-1 images. My current i3 PC from 2014 could cope with images from the D500 with no problems, even K-3 but it struggles with the larger files. Was looking at HP PC or Apple Mac for up to £2k.

I built my own for under a grand, although I did have a few components already such as the graphics card.

Try Overclockers as well, their customer service is excellent in my experience.
