New Domain Name, needs a homepge!

Hi everyone

If theres anyone so kind I need abit of help! I have bought a domain name I want to use for a future business. What I want to do is set a homepage with a white page and with the business name in the middle saying coming soon. Im sure I can just design the page and upload it ? Not sure what size though etc..

I purchased the domain name through this company

But Im unsure how to go about the task I have explained above.

you need some sort of host to link to your domain. at the moment its just that, a name with no webserver that is associated with that domain name.

123-reg maybe be able to set up a simple splash screen saying soon, otherwise its really easy to knock one up yourself in basic html.
 
As above, before creating a holding page you will need some sort of hosting package to upload the files into.

Once this is done its very easy to create a holding page using HTML
If you have never used website coding languages before, there are toold out there to help, such as dreamweaver or an online website builder
 
Yes you will need a hosting package, this can be purchased from 123 reg or any other hosting company you choose.

Once you have the hosting package you will need to point your website address to the hosting account. This is done by changing the nameservers for your domain, you do this by going to 123 reg control panel > configure domain > nameservers. Your hosting company will give you what to change this to.

Now you cave to connect to the hosting account using an FTP package. Search for a free FTP software package on the net.

Finally you have to upload your homepage. This must be named index.html which is the dafault name for the homepage.
