Recently, I replaced my beloved GT5541LS with a GT5562GTS after a show price at Focus on Imaging that was just too tempting!

Have now finished the review for my website which can be found here. If you do have any questions that I can help with then please do fire away!

Full height comparison to give you an idea!

And I thought the guy I bumped into the other day was tall, he was only 6 foot 9.

Seriously though, how do you actually use one of these? I have seen them at shows before but nobody using one.

I've just bought the GT5542LS, I think that's big enough for me..

Kev.

If you have a use for it, you soon work it out!

It is obviously a very specialised piece of kit and to be honest I didn't buy it for the 2.77m height, just enough to get it above head height. Unfortunately this is the only way to do it with the 5 series.

Have already used it for shooting the peregrines that are nesting 200ft up the local office block and today as I was hunting for hares, it was setup for shooting over the hedgerow with me stood inside the car with the sunroof open. With 2 legs outside the car and one almost horizontal on top of the car it has given me options I've never had before.

Please excuse the iPhone pic!

There will be other things I will think of I'm sure, remote camera on a bird nest maybe an option. It's proving itself useful already, it's just a shame they didn't make an XLS version of the new 5542 that Kev has just bought as the extra 30cm that would have is exactly what I needed!
