IS it possible? I have a 24-105 L series (and a 50mm 1.4 prime but not L series) and I am interested in getting a film body, maybe a EOS 5 or 3 or 1.

Can I use these lenses on an old body and what would I need?

Thanks for any help in advance

I have a Canon 50e, it can mount any EF lens. If you get an EF mount body there should be no problem with the lenses you listed, and the results are great on film!

ok great, thanks to both of you (nice bill murry pic too )

will the Auto focus still work and everything?

good stuff

there is no need to worry, all canon EF lens will work with all EOS bodies, if you have EF-S lens then they only work on some of the crop frame digital bodies.

those lenses work beautifully well on the old EOS film bodies - personally i'd recommend the EOS-3, one of the nicest handling (modern style) cameras i've had the pleasure of using. Pretty much bulletproof according to a mate who used a pair working the cruise ships - 16 rolls of 36 shots a night 6 days a week for 18 months and never missed a beat.

Let me guess. You have a mate with a Nikon and he has to carry around a great big chart to tell him what any given lens wil actually do when stuck onto any given camera.

The Canon EOS system isn't like that. Any EOS camera - film or digital - and any EF lens will work together just fine. End of.
