Hello

My laptop appears to have bitten the dust so I'm looking for something new. I can spend up to around £1k but would prefer less if I could.

Have been looking at the Dell outlet and seen https://m.dell.com/h5/m/r/outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&l=en&s=dfh&sign=PXhcOSHtr1T4IOw/PR7UdSVIFPbNIgcC0cqxWob2YrZw9POT1Y5aX5I4VehFnxOP+ZLNcbBJH8DLcqf9MB82kwrceoqeC3lpe6CauFruKAs6eVXOQzx1BuZtDFNXicy8aaRAvYhpyY8g+9ZjcIV3j9Ywh0P+aVrC4DnvTBx+FjEv9ddXNqCj7+aKU86IUMjq2geU5LpCzagDkt3dsQHSGRTBcgpM1NhsIWsEssuxFqT1SuyJGIoxx+Hlv/e8jMFSfnktHfZCPsm7ugNDf1UlMg==']these - but not sure if they are OTT for my use?

Sole use will be photo editing and internet browsing, no actual gaming. I would like to get more into processing my photos so would like something that could do this a bit faster than my old one which took an age to load and or edit photos even after changing to SSD drives. Cameras if that matters are Oly mirrorless em5ii and 1d mkiii.

Thanks

Al

Have you looked at the DELL Business Outlet inventory? A DELL Latitude model might be a better match and could work out cheaper. As a school network manager I bought hundreds of Latitude laptops over the years & found them to be pretty reliable.

You will have the option to extend the warranty including next business day on-site support if you need it.

Another place worth looking is here; I used this company as a supplier a few years back

Just be aware that the screens on cheaper gaming laptops have very poor sRGB and Adobe RGB colourspace coverage so they're not all that suitable for photo editing. If you're going to connect it to a decent external monitor most of the time then fine, but if you're going to use the laptop screen you may find it lacking.
