New lens advice

Hello all,

I'm looking at getting a new lens a Canon-EF-40mm-f2.8-STM-Lens for my 600D.

Currently I only have the stock lens .

I'm going France in September and want a new lens to help capture the holiday.

I have a varied style of things I like to photograph (usual I spot something and want to take an image, could be a building, flower, person, animal etc).


I tend to photograph people, cakes (for my wifes business http://www.reedcakes.co.uk)

My question is do you think this lens will be a good match for me, or should I be looking at something different?

Onestop-digital.com seems to be the cheapest at the moment, is it worthwhile avoiding the gray for this price lens?

Hi Neil,

Enjoy your new purchase. I can't comment as I haven't had the lens. As its a fairly new lens there probably isn't a large amount of people on here that have it when compared to other lenses. Hence the lack of replies.
