Hi all,
This may sound like a silly question but I yesterday received my Sigma 10-20mm Nikon fit after reading lots of good feedback on here.

Now as I have been busy doing a bit of DIY I have not had much time to fully test the lens in daylight, plus it's always raining.. :shake:

I have taken a few shots and TBH, I just don't think it is a sharp copy. Can anyone offer any advice so I can test the lens taking into account the dull light outside..?

Many thanks

Marco :)

Hi,
Like I have said I'm busy doing the house but I could really do with trying the lens. I have only used Auto 'P' at the mo, kind of more point and shoot due to light and rain.

The images just look soft compared to images I have seen on this forum?

Much appreciate your help.

Marco

Most of the ones you see on here will be at low iso, small aperture, on a tripod and over a long exposure. This makes none moving aspects very sharp and clear.

Are you taking shots hand held? Flash or not?

You should be able to take shots indoors that should help you decide how you feel about the lens. You could take a shot of an ornament or even a newspaper.

How about popping up the flash, selecting manual, ISO 100, 1/125 sec and f8.

I'll give it another go in the morning and post some images tomorrow. If your around please let me know what you think.

Should I set the image quality to high for the purpose of this and will the high res images upload on here..?

Cheers chaps.

As Woof Woof say have a bit of a play inside. Though if you have one of the basic bodies such as the D40, D40x, D60 or D3000 and try and use the internal flash you will get a big shadow like this as its a big lens for a small body.

Deffo set to the highest quality but please note that the forum sets a limit to the max image size they allow.

I think it's 800 along the longest edge.

My camera is a d300s btw.
