Hi, anyone advise please?
I just bought a new LG 48" TV when I ran the OOKLA speed test on it I am getting about 50mbps when I run the same test on the Fire Stick connected to the TV I'm getting expected 149mbps.
Wondering if there something I should change on the TV?
Thanks, Russ.

As above, wired connection is better if possible.

Things I would check are 2.4GHz vs 5GHz wireless bands and signal strength, there may be a diagnostic screen on the TV. I had new doors fitted upstairs and that knocked my wifi signal enough that the 5GHz signal wasn't getting through and it fell back to 2.4GHz.

If there is interference it may also be worth changing the wifi channel.

Personally, I prefer to use a Firestick/Apple TV/other streaming box than to connect a smart TV to my network. It will be OK initially whilst it is new and getting security updates, but they won't continue and who knows what backdoors you are opening into your network.

If the TV has an option to use a hard-wired Ethernet connection instead of WiFi, then that would where I would start.
Thanks but trouble nowadays connections are put in the easiest place by suppliers in my case in the bedroom at the front of the house:headbang:

Thanks, I do use a firestick most of the time I was just wondering why the fire stick can pick up 149mps and TV around 50mps from the same router.

There a a bunch of different standards for WiFi, with different speeds - the firestick may well support a faster standard while the TV is using an older (slower, cheaper) standard.
