I love this time of year! Lot of new cameras, ready for Photokina. Fuji to release a new lower priced CSC with a EVF.

Look like it could be good. It is good to see that Fuji are appealing to people who like viewfinders whereas a lot of CSCs manufacturers do not.

Looks like it might be bundled with a nice fast f2.8 kit lens too.

Does it have an EVF? Some sites reporting just Liveview which I took to mean the back screen?

With EVF - you can from the pic, just see the eye cup. If AF is good i.e. close to EM-5, then sign me up. The Fuji colours and and capture is addictive stuff, so I wait in anticipation, now if its weather sealed that will seal the deal!

If AF is anything like the X-Pro 1 it won't be anywhere near the EM-5

guessing the price will be OM-D territory if it fits between X100 and X-Pro.

I got a funny feeling they are going to announce to fixed lens X models. A direct replacement for the x100 with a fixed 23mm focal length then another with a fixed zoom lens to compete with the g1x.

I really do think that the X100 was a one off to help them get a feel for the technology. How can the X100 be improved to justify me upgrading?

Ok, image quality, though I doubt by much and possibly a better AF system, but the X100 is a lot better now. Look at the Leica X1 vs X2, some nice additions, but no real reason to spend more on the update with the original plummeting in value.

The way forward for Fuji to continue innovating is to come up with a Full Frame X100, then we will be in business

Fuji want to hit mass market and fixed lens is harder to sell than a good interchangeable body with a 'kit' zoom lens.

The X100 does provide them with a product that has an OVF that can be sold at a lower price than the X1pro though.

Add in the new 16 MP sensor minus AA filter and get round a few of the niggles and I'm guessing there would still be a sizeble market for an £800 camera.

Haven't they as good as said there is going to be a x100 replacement, it's already been discontinued.

Fair comments, the OVF is really nice to have since the EVF 'freezes' the image annoyingly when you AF. Also the leaf shutter is a revelation, how on earth did I take pictures without it :) . The X100 is an amazing camera and if they could produce a FF version then that would pretty much be one of the best cameras ever!

I think Fuji did say they would make a replacement, but I can see them focussing all their energy on their interchangable system. Also the X100 isn't that old yet, maybe we see one in a yr or so.
