New Medium format Phase One 100mp

What size is the sensor? They say 'full size medium format' but I couldn't see any dimensions,

Steve.

Or buy a real medium format camera for less than the hire cost!

Steve.

You can, but if you want a digital workflow you need to invest in decent scanning equipment etc. Proper scanning can get way more than 100mp off medium/large format film but that gear is pricey.

You can go down the development route but many prefer digital processing in PS/LR/CO/Aperature

Here is a screen grab Steve.

Thanks. It's just slightly smaller than 645 format so it can just about get away with the medium format claim.

In the past there have been medium format digital claims for sensors not much bigger than 35mm.

Steve.

Big sensor that. Are all medium format sensors the same size?

Big jackpot on Saturday so I might have to grab a ticket.

The sensor is 2.5x larger than Nikon FX (and 5.8x larger than DX) 8-O

There are much larger medium format sensors, they average around 6cm x 5-6-7cm.
However, they all have differing resolutions in m-pixels.

Interesting, thanks.

Not just a different league really is it, more a completely different sport.

:)

Certainly is, I used film medium format before dslr and the quality is amazing.

Medium format film is that size but I'm not sure about digital sensors?
I think you're correct Steve, hadn't given it much thought until you said.
I came from MF to Dslr and still have a couple of old film MF bodies.

design looks really clean and 100mp in such a small form factor - nice!

Would need a lottery win for this. Big files comes big expense. Would need 4k displays, loads of storage drives and the mother of all computers to keep things running smoothly...

On the original linked page, watch the video below the Tim Kemple quote - he uses one of these slung under a drone!
