New monitor issues

My old monitor packed up last week, so i bought myself a 32" curved LG "FHD" monitor.

My Mac is a MBPro M3 Pro with 18GB RAM.

When I set it up yesterday it seemed fine, but today I've notices that I get a lot of flicker almost as if it can't decide how much light it needs. I would have thought that the 1920 x 1080 resolution would have been fine. Can anybody advise if there is a general cause for flicker, or am I going to have to return it?

Can't help on the flickering I'm afraid, but I note the screen captured - what software is that? G1ZHD is one of my "customers" as a bureau sub-manager, he gets quite a lot of cards.

Edit: I bought a 49inch curved gaming monitor for my radio setup, as I have a lot of apps open. Really nice!

I wonder if changing screen refresh rate will remove the flicker(ing)?

That's Station Master Pro, a great bit of software. It logs, has rotator functionality, has a scope etc. And the latest beta will do all the FT modes, although I haven't tried it yet.

I brought the refresh rate down from 100 to 60, then 50 and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Which graphics card are you using? I had problems with a monitor and NVidia card, after much trial and error I found out it was the G-Sync causing the problem. Turned G-Sync off abd it has worked fine ever since.

I saw this LG reply to a 1* review

He has a Mac

Which way are you connecting monitor to MacBook ?? hdmi or thunderbolt although I doubt the monitor will have a thunderbolt input.

could also be an older spec HDMI cable if that is what you are using, they are not all the same.
