Seriously thinking of changing my 22" Dell Monitor - which is 3 years old for something better. It doesn't show even brightness from top to bottom of the screen now - darker at the top - which looks nice in a WP but useless for editing pictures!

I'm looking at a pair of 24" monitors - budget around £800 - £900. Suggestions/links welcome. Thanks.
 
If you are looking to have one monitor as the main editing monitor and the other just to hold "tools" you could save yourself some money and use your existing monitor for the second one. Provided you don't need it to be accurate as far as colour is concerned. Alternately use a less expensive one as the second monitor.

Before I opted for my iMac I looked at Eizo monitors and found them to be a good option. In fact I almost bought one. the idea was to use alongside my 24" Gateway using the Gateway as second monitor. However I scummed to a iMac so didn't peruse it any further.

Choice of monitors is very personal, I made a special trip to Colour Confidence in Birmingham to have a look at what was available. It was a worthwhile trip and worth effort
 
Looking is maybe a good idea - anyone know of somewhere to look in - say - Edinburgh - that's about 35 miles from me!
 
I've looked at them - there are some reports around of pink/green issues - have you had any experience of that?

Is that a CF card slot on the side?

Not on mine (or I've not noticed it at all - and I'm picky). I've had 4 in total - one with a dead pixel and another I'd managed to lockup somehow. Both were replace with refurbs (left it over 28 days, my own fault) that appear to be 100% perfect.

You can't replace them if they have a colour cast, but I've been very happy.

CF slot on the side: no. Couple of USB ports (very handy for the calibration device - there are a couple on the back too) and a SD card slot.
