Hi, this is the orginal photo without the addons or any pp at all. Any pointers in how i can improve this? Really want my wife out of the shot in the background.

Just my opinion but I would rotate the picture so your wifes shoulder is running horizontal along the bottom of the photo, so the baby is effectively lying down flat. Then I would crop the bottom off.

The only thing I can think of with your wifes head is to increase the blur a little.
Up the contrast and saturation and I think that will be a lovely photo.
