On Friday I received a Nikon D3200 which I got for a good price.

Anyone who knows me will know that I am a film photographer. My ratio of sixty film cameras to two digital will show that and film will continue to be my medium of choice for most of the time as I believe it is far superior for black and white.

However, The Nikon D100 which I bought ten years ago stopped working last year so I decided to replace it. I didn't really have any spare money but I managed to sell some items I was not using on ebay and acquired it effectively for nothing!

Obviously DSLR design has come a long way in ten years as the D3200 is quite an improvement on the D100 in more ways than just resolution (obviously this will come as no surprise to most of you who are regular DSLR users).

It seems very intuitive to use with one button near the shutter to adjust exposure compensation and the Fn button set for ISO. That's all I need!

Anyway, no real point to this post other than to say I now have it and am quite impressed.

Here here!

Films fantastic, such clarity and diversity.. I don't think us photographers can ever really claim it dead. Just rarity increases!

My friend has the same camera, he really rates it and takes some lovely images. I only mess with black & white, never really mastered it in my youthfull film days, I can say however from printing my work that my results have vastly improved since I got a printer with 3 grey/black inks and silver efex pro! Enjoy the new camera.
