So, my first year in South Australia, a group of ex-pats and friends took a long weekend off in October (Spring!) to go north to the Flinders Ranges, some 200 miles north of Adelaide. The journey up was fairly horrendous as there'd been lots of rain, and we got bogged down. There was one particular creek flowing over the dirt road, we had to go through one by one with folk running alongside to push. When we finally got to Wilpena Pound, we camped up and then had a very boozy session around the camp fire (an entire flagon of Port was consumed!). Next morning, many were feeling rather fragile, but we were roused up by Chris, the woman in the red jumper, who proceeded to make a breakfast picnic for us all. IIRC there were 6 Chrises on that trip )3 in this picture)...

Taken on the Pentax Spotmatic I bought in Singapore on the way out, 55mm lens I think. No idea what film, sorry!

(That's my Escort Sport behind the multi-coloured tent...)

Have I got this wrong? It seems the vote is for the thread rather than the contents.

Poll closes on 19th late. Sorry, but I screwewd it up a bit. Never mind that I do IT for a living! May the best shot win.

Bit late in declaring voting closed and I apologise because I should have allowed multiple votes if only to to reduce the likelihood of a tie, which we have.

Not sure how we proceed on this, the spin of a virtual coin? Advice required from more experienced members. I'm prepared to nominate a winner based on my preference if necessary.

How shall I resolve this as Quiz Master?

Contestants! What is the earliest photograph you can find which includes a camera? Could be a picture of the camera itself, the earliest camera p**n, or ... verifiable answers only.

Go for it, lads!

Should this question result in a draw, I will cast the casting, castigating vote!

It should be wound up by early Christmas Eve, ideally.

Kodak Brownie? I had my grandmother's Brownie 2 and foolishly gave it away. I still have the negatives from it, taken in the 1920's. My dad were but a lad then.

Its actually a Hawkeye, but given its age it was probably made by Kodak to a similar design as contemporary brownies.

Cool, if @-Oy- doesn't object I'll think of something and post a new theme in a few days.

@steveo_mcg did a new “new old film challenge” get posted? Have I missed it?
