New or second hand

Guys,
I want to buy a Nikon 200/400mm f4 and have seen a second hand one on eBay for US$6k or should I just bight the bullet and get a new one at US$7k??

Check the sellers ratings and whether they are offering tracked delivery. Its a massive lens and safe shipping is essential

Factor in warranty, import duties (if there are any for you) and possible hassle if found to be faulty or not as described and for the difference I would buy new.

I am lead to believe that there is no import duty for photography equipment into Malaysia but I am thinking New bought in Malaysia is going to be my best bet
