New PC Advice

Looking for a bit of help, my 4 year old desktop pc has died on me and I'm now looking for a replacement, I've just got a new job that means I'm going to be travelling 3 - 4 days a week so a laptop seems the best idea for me, I was looking at Macbooks but to be honest the price has put me off.
I was in John Lewis and liked the look of this HP:

HP Pavilion Laptop, DV6-3044SA

It seemed very well built and I can get discount through my work EPP scheme.

Processor: Intel i5-450M Processor
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon 5470HD 512mb
RAM: 3GB
Screen: 1366 x 768

Just wondering for £699.99 with an i5 chip is this a good deal? / good spec?

You see I have a Dell Latitude for work and its been nothing but trouble, it keeps breaking down, that said it could be all the crap corporate stuff thats on it, it is very quick though, but surely a Latitude is very very expensive?

what model and how is it breaking down?

latitudes do start within your budget.

It's a Dell Latitude E6400 it keeps needing to be rebuilt by IS not sure if the hard drive is dodgy or what.

interesting, without knowing the full details it does sound like a software issue if it needs reformatting and reinstalling..

we've got a mix of the old D series and E series at the moment (about 200 or so) and they're all faultless hardware wise i find. got an E6500 myself at the moment and its rock solid.

I might think about it, travelwise its been flawless and its built like a tank, also is well specced.z
