As my current PC (Windows 10 Pro) has started to run a little slower, I'm thinking of getting a new one with Windows 11 on board. Can anyone please advise is there is any reason to go for 11 Pro, would it help with Photoshop at all?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

have you cleaned it out inside . Dust gets everywhere snd can slow a computer down. I use a rocket blower for mine. cached images and files can slow down a computer as well

Thanks for the help Bazza, really appreciated. I do use a blower to clean dust from the PC but would have no idea where to start clearing out "cached images and files" though.

If the machine is 3+ years old you might renew the thermal compound under the heat sink. This gradually becomes less effective, leading to overheating and throttling.

Thanks for the help Toni. I'm afraid that would be a bit beyond my capabilities. I panic when I see all the wiring as I'm blowing the dust from the tower.

As a home user there's probably no reason to go for Windows 11 Pro, the main difference is that Pro allows you to join the computer to a domain. It certainly doesn't affect the performance of the machine.

You will find cache under delete browsing date click on the 3 dots at the top right

I still run my 2012 homebuilt pc and it's still quick.

Never heard of or had to do this in all my time of being in IT (over 30 years)

I talked about it on here a few years ago, replacing the compound on my XPS and getting a very useful boost in performance once it stopped throttling.
