never heard of that brand PSU so that instantly puts me off. the 450W version i would say is a little underpowered if you plan on adding anything else in the future.

also the 450w doesnt have an 8 pin ATX so id check what the motherboard has.

personally id stick to OCZ or beQuiet or XFX are supposed to be good (rebranded seasonic)
 
Thanks Neil, I also realised that the mobo didn't support 1600mhz RAM, so I switched it to the following - Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 P67 Socket 1155 7.1 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

How about the following PSU? ZM500-ST 500W Two-Forward Switching PSU - I checked out the wattage required and based on my current and future setup I still barely break 400W. Plus this has the ATX 4pin power connector needed by the mobo
 
id consider zalman a reputable brand yeah.. its not modular though so youll have to stash a big wadd of unused cable somewhere in your case.

yup 400w should probably be okay but factor in future upgrades, nothing worse than getting the bare minimum then having to strip out the PSU a few months down the line
 
Thanks Neil, looking forward to getting the system up and running. Hopefully it should be pretty quick as there is no software or OS installation required.

fresh install all the way..

I spent a while planning my migration from pc to new pc, luckily i could have them running at the same time for a week, to make sure i got everything just how i had it :)
 
In that case I'd better wait as I've got client work on. Is it really that dangerous? I thought most of the hardware was plug n play and I could atleast get it up and running and do a fresh install once I have my 2nd hdd or the SSD in place.
