New Richo GXR interchangeable lens compact

interesting idea, but doesn't it just make buying new and different lenses a lot more expensive, which kinda defeats the object of an interchangeable lens compact in the first place?

Blimey that is odd! Looks like a plastic toy. Annoying that the Video has been removed! I would like to have seen that.

I think it's a very expensive way of owning that type of camera unless the sensor was full frame and awesome!

Your not just buying a new lens, your buying a lens and the sensor.

I think it's very innovative idea, you have dummy body but when new sensor arrives you can change it along with the lens.

What will they come up with next? Some bright spark will probably develop a system where the sensor is built into the body and all you need to change is the lens, in fact.......:naughty:

But the point is you change the sensor according to the optics being used. They are releasing 2 lens, the zoom lens has a CCD whereas the prime lens has a Cmos sensor. Do you get the thinking behind it yet?

Yup, they have come up with an idea that will increase their revenue stream by about 50%

Interchangable sensor module - as a concept, brilliant.

Not sure how their implementation will work, not enough info on that link just yet.

video plays fine for me. Launches in december-wow it looks crazy/amazing!

One of the criticisms I've seen of the new Leica S2 - aside from the price - is that Leica are building an absolutely wonderful camera that will still be working 60 years from now but putting in a sensor that could well be superseded within a year.

Something like this in part addresses that problem doesn't it?

It has potential!
