Hello Gang

I reported last week on the withdrawl of the traditional Extreme III CF cards from SanDisk's price list.

Today see's the launch of the replacment range Called "Extreme Pro CF" the blurb is as follows:

SanDisk Extreme® Pro™ CompactFlash® up to 90 MB/s* write speeds and UDMA-6 enabled. Extreme Technology with SanDisks Power Core Controller™ & Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing™ “ESP”. Invented by SanDisk to increase the card’s performance level with less wear and tear—and it is sealed with RTV silicone coating for added protection against moisture and humidity. This card delivers professional performance.

8GB up to 32GB prices have not been released yet I will keep you posted.

Does someone want to mail Sandisk and tell them that's not how to load a CF card into a D300 (unless the sticker is on the wrong way :p)

Could be a D700 and that IS the right way to load it!
 
What makes CF cards better than SD, just the write speed?


$800 is insane, I know that will drop pretty quickly, but still.
 
Just had a quick check using their own compatability tool and neither the D3 or 1d Mk III have the new cards recommended! (Neither are the D300 or D700, one of which appears to be being used to demontrate the card in the banner picture!)
 
I think it is the D300 as the 'Info' button on the back is beside the 'CF in use' light, unlike the D300 where its somewhere on the left iirc.

Bit of false advertising then???
 
SanDisk's advertising wing is known for getting things wrong in type and images even with so called proof reading.

Just met with Trancsend today they do a 600 speed CF card i'm just waiting for a sample and will let you know what I think.
