I have a high street shop with far too much room in the store area. I am thinking og taking the area and making a studio. mostly i will use it for my own projects but may let it out to carefully vetted individuals.

what i need to know is what lighting should i be looking for?

What size is the space?

In that case I suggest one of these kits + one of these kits, a beauty dish and a flash meter.

That's about the minimum you should be thinking of for a hire studio, there will of course be other bits and pieces too

Wo t no honey-snoot? (Sorry, joke) Background support and backgrounds will add a bit.

For personal use, depending on what you want to achieve, you can do a heck of a lot with two lights and a reflector for basic portraiture. Paying punters will expect the works though.

The quality brands are Elinchrom, Bowens and Lencarta.
