New Tripod needed, your help and recommendations

I'm after a new tripod but not sure what to get. I've narrowed it down to Manfrotto 190XPROB, Manfrotto 055xbpro or the giottos MTL9351B which I've seen for 75 quid with head.

Do you guys have any experience of any of these? Which do you recommend?

I need a tripod that is sturdy for long exposures at night and with my Lee big stopper. Also must be flexible in use. The long exposure photography is the most important thing for me in the new tripod but I will use it for landscape work.
 
Have't used either of the Manfrotto ones but I have the Giottos one and find it to be very good though I've used nothing heavier than a 70-200 on it. It seems very sturdy to me. Of equal concern should be the head. I have a manfrotto ball head and a manfrotto 3 way. The 3 way is far more stable and I personally find it more useful for landscape stuff. A geared head would be even better again but big money.
 
I have the MTL9351B which is very similar to the 055prob but a lot cheaper. Its well made and sturdy i can't complain. It's well regarded with good reviews which is why i bought it. 75 is a great price the retail for 115.

I'm in the same boat mate. I'd settled for the 055XPROB then saw the MTL9351B special offer. I'm currently reading up on both.

Thanks! I'm seriously thinking of buying one tonight but am not 100% sure. Do you know if the RSH-61 will work with it?
 
I would rather pay the extra £15 for a well known and respected brand with 5yr warranty. The Giotto RRP is £140

The Giottos is 1.1KG heavier, has a maximum load of 1/2 the redsnapper and is more expensive.

Not sure where the 1.1kg heavier comes from. From the Giottos website, it only weighs 1.85kg as opposed to the 1970g (1.97kg) quoted on the Red Snapper website. Spec wise, the two tripods seem very similar with the Giottos numbers slightly better in my opinion.
 
If you do decide on the giottos best order soon before the price goes up again

Ahh, yes you are right, I was looking at the the wrong bit, 3.1kg is total weight of the product and box and instructions.
I took the plunge and went for the red snapper with ball head at 99.00 roughly with the 10% tp discount.
