Yes
I am going to invest in a red snapper tripod as I have seen good reviews, but I now need to get a head.

Can anyone give me any recommendations, want to spend up to £50max really

Many thanks

If you intend to get Redsnapper legs why not get one of the packages they do with their legs + RSH-12 ball head? It's £59.95 on it's own.

I did look at that, just wondering if there were any reccommended options to this

I did a fair bit of research and ended up getting the RS-324 & RSH-12 Head which I am finding very good, but have no prior experience on which to make an objective recommendation.

I remember reading at the time that the RSH-528 was considered a very good head, and Joe at Redsnapper seemed to be pretty confident in that head's capabilities.

I suspect it may be the best bang-for-buck head around.

That said, the RSH-12 is very nice to use.

+1 for the RSH-12, which I bought as a package with the RS-283 legs, on recommendation from a satisfied customer. The quality is such that you would think they cost a lot more. I also use an RSH-61 ball head on Gitzo 1542 Traveler legs and it works very well as a lightweight walkabout/holiday combo that fits nicely under the flap of a Thinktank Retrospective 10.

How much difference is this head to giottos mh-1003, with a mh-652 head?

I have the option of getting this second hand if I wish?
