As some of you know I was in a bit of a fix at the beggining of the month and had to sell my D2X..........After the new year I will be looking for a new body and the D3 has come to mind a few times but has anyone owned a D2X and then gone on to a D3.....apart from FX and a better iso capability whats the difference, do I need high iso, after all most shots I take are into the sky and what about FF would I need to use shorter lengths to get the whole aircraft in.

DX I know about but FX

If your not bothered about low noise high iso or FX then why not consider the D300 and then maybe put what you save towards a new lens.

We shoot similar subjects Pete. Go back and have a look at a few of the comments you made when I first got my D3. ;)
You have your answer. :D
I hardly ever use the D300 now. Its my back up. It is still a superb camera though.
The one thing that the D3 will do is allow you to crop tighter with more detail and less noise visible. Sometimes we need that with aircraft shots.
If you need to try one, just let me know and I will pop over one Sunday and you can use mine and I'll use the D300 for a morning. ;)

Kev.
