My advice would be to concentrate on getting to know what you have now, you have plenty of gear there for learning with. Save your cash and soon you will know what you need.

Haggerma, think you're just about there.

I'd get a good quality lens cloth - I use one designed for my glasses –*to clean your lens plus a blower for any dust removal.

I carry a bin bag or two around with me for any severe downpours even though my bag is really waterproof. Black insulation tape or gaffer tape for any emergencies with your tripod and maybe a mini tool or an appropriate allen key and screw driver if your tripod needs tightening.

Have you got a lens hood for your 18-5? If they do one for that lens then it might be worth investing in one just to hep avoid flare on those bright, sunny days.

Other than that I think you're sorted. Just get out there and enjoy it :)

I was really impressed with the lens cloths in Jessops for only a few quid!

N0! got one for the Tamron but not the Canon... Thanks

Thats what i am now aiming to do, just checking there is no major kit i should really have. have my first 'real' play with the camera this week end, and god it may be the worst one to start with.

MY mate is go-karting in a championship and im tagging along as an excuse to play with the camera!

The 18-55 hood is crap, it doesn't make much of a difference with or without a hood. I have one but most of the time I just can't bother with it.

To add-on, blower and a lenspen.
