Newbie Looking for a bridge camera, is a Fuji Finepix SL240 a good call?

Hi, im new to this and the best camera ive ever had is just a normal compact camera. My budget is around £200 but if needs be i would stretch to around £300. The camera im looking at is the Fuji Finepix SL240 which looks good for me but saying that I do not fully understand all the specifications.

What im looking for is basically good image quality rather than anything else, any cool features will just be a bonus as I just want a new camera to capture family moments to help remember the little things :)

I know you guys probably get these sort of threads all the time and you will be bored of these but any help will be great :) thanks for your time Dean
 
I have 3 fuji bridge cameras - s8000fd / s9500 / s100fs

The S8000fd is great for macro work and the s9500 is superb camera especially as I bought it for £50. I have just got the s100fs which is better featured including image stabilization but as yet the jury is still out if its better as a whole than the 9500. The image quality side by side is far better on the S100fs but not sure about a few other things like viewfinder.

If I was you I would look out for the S9500 or S9600 there was someone on here selling a 9600 for under £200 and they are on ebay
 
would you say the s9600 is better than the sl240 then? The camera I really want is the Fugi HS30 really

Not sure to be honesty don't know. If I were you I would check for reviews on both, I do know the 9600 and the 9500 has excellent reviews but don't know how they compare to the SL240
