Ive decided to get a 550d but not sure what lens(s) to get. It seems like a minefield and not sure where to start.
Ill be looking to do some nature shots as well as macro photography and studio portraits. Do I need three lenses?

What questions do I need to ask and what should I be looking for?

Any recommendations? Please bear in mind that cost is a factor.

Thanks

Not sure what you are expecting to pay but I would suggest a 24-70 for studio and a set of extension tubes for the macro on them and you will need to get a lens in the 300mm range at least for wildlife. It really does come down to getting what you want to cover first and adding to it like a true 1:1 macro lens around the 100mm range. Sorry for being a little vague but that is the best I can come up with.

Thanks. So how much is a decent 100mm macro without going mad?

Thanks

Or, if you are looking for something cheaper (£80 to £100, 2nd hand) have a look for a Cosina 100mm Macro. Lovely lens for the price even though the AF is a bit noisy and it looks a bit cheap. The optical quality is excellent for what it sells for.
