Yes
Hey,

I have my first "proper" photoshoot on Sunday. A dance troupe who want some nice promotional images for their website and flyers. 15 girls in all! They have paid for the studio but apart from that I am not charging them anything.

Has anyone got any advice for a first timer? Things to remember? Technique? And possibly some tips for directing them for group shots, etc?

Cheers guys,
Vicky.

Well, it's 2 hours and no reply so looks like you need a bump.

It might help people guide you if you gave some idea of the kit you have at your disposal....lenses, lighting backdrops etc. I'm not a studio type so can't really help you but there are plenty of folk around here who should be able to.

vic welcome:thumbs:

funny thing is i was at a shoot doing this last night never took any photos myself

you need to talk to the leader as she /he will have a idea what they want.

they will prob have props with them if they have umbrellas be careful if they are white:lol: as we found out

get some shots of them jumping always look good imo
try usual things like big girls at the back standing then the next ones kneelin with the youngsters on the floor:thumbs:

ask them if they want some frienship shots always try as many poses as possible and take more than one shot of each...

what i like to do is say " right girld on three ONE TWO and shoot  works every time also ask the smaller girls if they can see your eye throuh the lens when you take the shot keeps them looking at you #
talk to them all the time its a long time for someone who is posing " when you put the camera to your eye they think you are shooting at any moment " if your checking settings and saying nothing it will feel like an eternity

again talk all the time get them close together and have fun

hope this helps some
