I have just bought a S/H Sony Alpha 290 & was looking at lenses on fleabay.What is the difference between SAM & SAL lenses?Apologies if the answer is obvious.
 
I think SAL is just the name given to their lenses (Sony Alpha Lens?). SAM stands for smooth autofocus motor.
