Newbie seeking lens help

I have just joined here this evening.
I have just treated myself to a Nikon D300s and 2 lenses, Sigma 24-70 F2.8 Macro and a Sigma 100-300 f4 EX DG.
So now all i have to do is find the time to use it and work out how it all works.
The reason for my Question is this, i could not afford the Nikon lenses of the same focal length and even these Sigmas were not cheap, but will i be dissapointed with the optics on these lenses when my Brother who got me into this uses all Nikon pro gear and it has been seeing the results he achieves that made me buy this gear.

I had both those lenses in Canon fit and they were both excellent.

Sigma have been making lenses for long enough to know what they're doing and some of their lenses are (arguably, people will never agree 100%) better than the camera manufacturers own lenses.

Whenever I have kit envy I look on the net at the gorgeous pictures people have taken will really basic or cheap cameras, and then I feel worse.:razz:

You do realise that as your brother got you into this, he is now required to loan you any of his kit whenever you want it

just remember, any shortfall in image quality, you can certainly make up for in composition and creativity !!
