Newbie sony nex 5r 16-50 questions

Got one from sony outlet
Only had a few minutes to look at it this morning

1. The sd card slot isn't very smooth and needs a bit of play to slot in, I assume its not right?
2. Not looked at manual, but the menu isn't easy to navigate and couldn't see format memory card
 
1) the slot takes both MS Duo and SD cards. The "not smooth and needs a bit of play" might be due to the physical difference of the two type of cards?

2) Menu > Setup > Format (under Memory Card Tool).

I was going to get the exact same camera from the sony outlet, but when I made up my mind, it was sold out :'(

This function is currently disabled?
 
Hi,

I think the format option is disabled when you're in the intelligent auto setting. If you change to AV it TV you can format.

Thanks. Not sure on the above but it might have been because it was low on power/ battery
