NFTS to Fat32 - do i need to do it?

Hi,

I've transferred old pc files to the external drive and hooked it up to the mac, which seems to read everything on there ok (the drive is currently NFTS). The only thing i can't seem to do is to edit folder names or create new folders, is this because i need to re format it as a Fat32?

The stuff on this external drive is to stay on there as i want to keep it separate from the main system, but if i need to reformat it i guess i'd need to shift it all to the main, reformat, and then shift it all back again?

Any help much appreciated!

I understand that Mac's read NTFS but won't write to NTFS, Fat32 is the way so I have been told.;)

More likely a permissions issue.... I'm not a mac user, so can't help with figuring out how to solve
 
Told you it would be a permissions issue ;)
