The Iris Nebula, also NGC 7023 and Caldwell 4, is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. It lies 1,300 light-years away and is six light-years across. The colours are from the bright star in the middle reflecting in the dust and gas of the area.

This is a total of almost 350 exposures, ranging in shutter speed of 60 seconds to 300 seconds. It was taken over about 3 weeks as the weather wasn't good and also the moon plays a bit part in 'normal colour' imaging.

Hope that you like it.

Your technical ability for this type of shot is astounding and I am never disappointed by your photo posts. 6 light years across I mean, that's like forever! Brilliant work once again Sara

Another amazing image Sara (y)

(And as always I can see a face in there too
It looks like a mouse with wide thick lips :D )

What a stunning image, the distance is almost incomprehensible, but you've captured so well, amazing! I can also see the mouse peering over the constellation btw. :)
