Coombe Abbey is nice.
As is kennilworth castle, got locked in there before, was wondering why there was a guy walking round ringing a bell at 5pm, apparantly castles are just as hard to break out of as they are to break in
Depending on what sort of mood you want, you could try the steps leading up to the old cathedral which is in the city centre, or even in one of the cathedrals there. Round the corner is also a nice water feature which could be nice. Its a waterfall type thing, they use it alot for the local council and mp shots. You might be able to find it on google by searching for "coventry, priory place". However theres normally alot of kids around it at the weekend, but they generally stay out of your way, especially if you shout at them loudly
If you want a small enclosed wooded area, there corley rocks about a mile outside coventry up the tamworth road - theres rocks there which could be used for a few interesting couples shots. However it is also sometimes used for fly tipping which is a shame as its a lovely little location, so may be worth checking it beforehand to see what state its in.
Theres some nice well maintained gardens next to the motor museum as well, again in the city centre. Theyre usually quite quiet, how ever Ive not been there for a while, and I cant remember if the council bother maintaining them over winter.
In front of the belgrade theatre theres a recently redone water feature with a couple of artsy statues.
The canal basin is a 5 minuite walk from the city centre, though its not as good as it used to be, its become rather drab and boring now.
If you have a wander to the top floor of the barracks car park, slap bang in the middle of the city centre, it has no roof and low walls so you could get some nice photos of your friend with the city centre skyline in the background. Just be mindful if you go in the middle of the day, there are cars about though its usually quiet right at the top.
Theres a large tower in the memorial park, which again has been used for local mp shots. Though the rest of the park is very much just open field, but there are some wooded areas with paths a bit further up the road leading out of coventry, and another nice park hidden somewhere in those woods, how you get into it, god knows, last time I found my way in I was lost after a night out :shrug:
Or if you want to go further afield, theres stratford upon avon (25 min drive away), the park by the shakespeare theatre is lovely, with all the canal boats and stuffs. Theres the leamington (15 min drive or so) gardens, at the bottom of leamington high street, very colourful even at this time of year and theres one of those big green house things for exotic plants, I forget their proper name.
Take your pick, theres loads in coventry and surrounding areas.
