Don't worry about sounding silly I do it all the time and remember there's no such thing as a stupid question. At the risk of sounding silly .... as I say I am new to all of this and vie just started taking photography more seriously but what do you mean by this??
"Images taken at the Nifty Fifty focal length on full frame or the equivalent focal length on crop bodies, ie. Canon 1.6 crop body plus 35 prime or 30mm on zoom etc."
The camera I'm using is a Panasonic Lumix FZ82 x60 zoom.
The Nifty Fifty is what 50mm focal length lenses were called back in the film days for 35mm format cameras which is the same as on Full Frame Sensor digital cameras, however, I believe the sensor in your camers is a 1 2/3 inch sensor which has a Crop factor something like x5.6 so an equivalent lens length on your camera would be around 9mm on your zoom. I do think though the Panasonic camera show the focal lengths in the display as if they are full frame so your display when zoomed would read 50mm and you'd be good to go.
Hope I didn't just add to the confusion............
