I don't know how his fishing was but your hunting
went just fine… cool composition… though the ren-
dition is not so convincing, Terry!

could you explain what you mean?

I love the composition but the renditions
lacking, very subjectively…

— details in the blacks (more is seen on Flickr but still)
— the sky colours are too mat or flat (I don't which word
is correct here).

I would very much like to see the RAW file!

What does 'renditions' mean? I like the picture very much.

There are two main areas of expertise in picture making:
the capture (prior to SR) and the rendition… everything
after SR.

Both require their own, very specific but complementary
set of skills.

At this point, no one can alter the capture but the rendition
may be directed in such a way as to optimize the end result.

pm me your email address.

If your RAW file is bigger than 12MB, I'm afraid it want work.
I will create a dropbox and you will
receive an invitation to join
the given box… just drop it in there.

All I will need is your em@il address in PM.

That's very good Terry (y)

Nice photo, composition and lighting.

But those bobbing black things kinda distract...........

And as for SR.................:):):):)

You mean post processing, then. At least that is the term I know.

I like his 'renditions' - good solid silhouette with no lurking detail and enough of the water to define the silhouette.

Thanks John,

That was the intention.

I didn't want too much detail in the shadows as I thought they'd detract from the silhouette effect I was aiming for.

As for shutter release, one was used, on a decent tripod so unsure what is meant there.

Whole words are clearer.

Yes, you're right… but try to contribute to a written
forum when you have paws like mine and I'am a
very bad typist… every shortcut is a blessing!

Except when no one has a clue what you mean when you use an acronym...

AFAIAC… I puzzled quite a bit on that one
and it is not even photo related IYKWIM!

Ahhhh...night fishing. I do mine in the depths of winter, sub zero temperatures and the sea a great deal rougher than it is in your fine shot !

Type the word "renditions" into the site search and you will see Kodiak Qc is quite fond of the term!

Search more… I am fond of many more words! :)

Terry, how did you get the guy watching his rod tips to stay still for so long - must have been several seconds. Did you have a word with him? Or was it pot luck?

I lke it - but will wait to see what magic Daniel can conjure up....i know what his work is like and wish I could achieve 30% of his talent.

No, one step more:
the capture + post-processing = rendition.

One hardly ever sees the cooking in PP by
the photographer but the posted rendition.
