A project for college added in some fireworks with photoshop

Might be just me but I think it would look better without the fireworks. They are an obvious edit.

Otherwise I like it, nice idea.
 
Don't think they look that obvious to me but there is a bit of messy glare at the top left. Over all I like it(y)
 
Ignoring the fireworks.... I like the way the light trails run. Red ones ending at a stationary car and white ones starting from ones. Makes a nice variation on an often done type of shot.
 
Thanks for the comments guys, I tried another go at the image, overall i prefer it without fireworks but my teacher wants me to add something to it to show what i have learned in the photoshop class. The theme is into the light so i thought the fireworks would be a good feature its still quite hard to make it look good anyway heres my second attempt.

I agree with Bumph, the second edit is much less obvious then the first.

I suppose it depends whether this is being looked at as a study in photoshop techniques or low-light photography?
 
How did you manage to place the fireworks on through photoshop?
