Night time Bright lights

Can I ask how to get those really cool shots where someone is in a nightclub and there are all the funky disco lights in the background but the subject is crystal clear and well lit.

Obviously a flash is used and I assume second curtain? Anything else? Any other techniques or tips?

f5.6 1/15 (as a starting point) and 2nd curtain sync, vary the shutter speed depending on lighting at the time.

If you want to get really adventurous, slow the shutter a little more and twist the body of the camera and/or zoom in/out while taking the shot
