Hi,

I'm new to photography and I'm just wondering, my cousin once took photos of me in London but it was completely dark and when she played them back it looked as if it was taken in pure daylight.

I'm just wondering - how is this done? Would you just use the highest ISO setting?

Apologies for this 'newbie' question - I'm still waiting for my first DSLR to be delivered!

Thanks John.

Low aperture ( f/2.8 or lower in some cases) high ISO and a steady hand if you aren't using flash.

Tom is correct but the other way you can get night shots is with a very slow shutter speed. This requires a tripod, using a release button and a stationary subject such as a land scape. It's probably not the a good idea for people unless you can get them to stay completely still for 20 seconds or so, (good luck with that). lol
