Seriously considering getting this for landscapes and general photigrapgy to pair with a new D810 would welcome the thoughts of any owners or users of this lens

Thanks for comments guys do you find the lens sharp and sharp accross the frame ?

I do, best corner sharpness comes from 20-28mm in my experience at reasonable landscaping f-stops.
