Nikkor 35mm f1.8 gone soft!

Hi all

Until recently I was using a D5000 with, amongst others, the Nikkor 18-105 VR and Nikkor 35mm f1.8. Both were pin sharp, particularly the 35mm.

However, I've just bought a D7000 and things have changed! The 35mm is very soft on the 7k, it just isn't very sharp. However, the 18-105 is quite the opposite, it is even sharper on the 7k.

Am I doing something wrong? I've taken test shots with both lenses in the same light, exactly the same settings for both, and the 18-105 is just a load sharper.

Soft or missed focus?

May be the 18-105 is more calibrated with the d7000 and the 35mm is off ?

Do you know anyone else with a nikon close by who can test both lenses and loan you theirs to try...?

Good idea - I know a man with a 35 who I could swap with.

Maybe you need to give the Micro Adjust a try if the camera has it?

I've just checked via Google and it does have micro adjust/fine tune so maybe it is just a case of adjusting it to get it pin sharp again.
