Nikkor 35mm f2D Vs Nikkor 35mm f1.8G AF-S?

Puting price to one side, which has the best IQ and sharpness betwen the Nikkor 35mm f2D & Nikkor 35mm f1.8G AF-S? It will be going on my D90 so AF will be possible with the F2D.

The G is the better lens by a mile, I've had both and really rated the G.

they are both superb i would use dx for dx as a bit faster

Have a read of this. The 1.8 really is quite a lens.

I'm glad the G is so well rated. Would save a few pennies also.

Either, they are both really good optically, I prefer the look of images from the D to the G, but that is just my personal taste.

If it's for your D90 go with the cheaper option, you will not be disappointed with the G.
