Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VRII owners, help please

Hi all,
I've just taken delivery of a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VRII that I've hired for a wedding on Friday. There are 4 switches on the side, 2 for the VR and 2 for focusing.

Can anyone explain the difference in the 2 auto focus modes please? (the 3 settings are M/A, A/M and M)
Also, why the switch for Full or 5m to infinity for focusing. Should I just leave this on full?

I'm guessing that the active switch for the VR is for moving subjects like sport?

M/A autofocus can be overidden by manually focussing
A/M autofocus can be overridden by manually focussing with the focus ring but the sensitivity of the manual focussing is greatly reduced to prevent people knocking it, this is the normal setting when shooting with AF
M manual focus only

If you have it set on full, it just means it will look for focus over the entire range, thus potentially taking fractionally longer to focus. I'd have thought for a wedding, just leave it on full.
