My spin the bottleometer says the answer is 6. Does that help you take a photo of something?

I voted 10-24mm cos I'll be selling one soon ... Just finding it hard to part with my lovely D90 and DX lenses after a cracking trip last weekend !!!

I'm hankering after a 105mm Macro, probably later in the year, just done and ordered a 24-70 which will complete 2 of the Holy Trinity, picking up the 14-24mm later, 70-200 will have to wait till April when I cross the pond to Las Vegas.

None of the above! The Dx lenses are useless to me (on a D700) and I'm more than happy with my Tamron 90mm for Macro use and the 50mm f/1.8 for low light.

IF I was looking for a Macro lens though, I would go for the 105mm since it gives a bit of extra working distance which might be enough to not spook any insect subjects.

The 105mm. It'll go with you if you ever go FF. And it's faster than the DX lenses - which is nice :)

The 60mm would be next choice and would be quite a nice portrait lens on a DX camera.

HTH

60mm for me - useful focal length, especially for portraiture. I use my AF-D version a lot for general shooting and not just macro.

Seems someone has some money burning a hole in one's pocket....

105mm VR is a cracking lens. Love mine for macro and portraits and works great on FF too!
